Default can someone please help me?

ok, i have tried to solve my problem but i can't, here is my problem in a
nutshell.
i have 2 pcs one with windows xp pro and the other with windows vista home
premumn.

on my xp machine, i can see my vista machine and i can upload\download to a
shared folder.

but my vista machine pc cannot access my xp machine, it sees it but when i
try to access it i get the following message!!!
\\HOME-CM00RQIQZN IS NOT ACCESSABLE YOU MAY NOT HAVE PERMISSION FOR THIS
RESOURCE, CONTACT YOUR ADMIN.

here is what i have tried so far.... i can ping my vista pc from my xp pc
and viseversa... if i do net view \\ip i get a list of the disk shared. this
works on both machines...

in my local area connection properties for my vista pc i have the following!!
client for microsoft networks-checked
qos packet scheduler-checked
file & printer sharing for microsoft networks-checked
internet protocol version 6 (tcp/ipv6)-checked
internet protocol version 4 (tcp/ipv4)-checked..also in the advanced\wins
setting i have enable netbios over tcp\ip and lmhost lookup is also
enabled.....i also have this set on my xp pc.....

I don't see where you said anything about user accounts. On the XP
machine disable Simple Sharing (Folder OptionsView) and create a
password for the user account if you haven't done so already. If you are
the only user, you can set XP to log in automatically for convenience.

Configure Windows to Automatically Login (MVP Ramesh) -
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

Then create the identical user account and password on the Vista box.
You can use control userpasswords2 method in Vista, also.

Now your XP box will recognize the user on the Vista machine as
authorized to access its resources.

Glynns10,

Thanks for your post, and I'm sorry you're experiencing trouble.

Sharing and permissions have changed a bit in Vista over XP in order to be
more secure "out of the box". Please review these changes in the below
TechNet article, and make the necessary adjustments and let us know if the
problem isn't solved.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/net.../vista_fp.mspx

Thanks
