Mouse problem
I just installed Vista business edition as an upgrade to Windows XP pro. The
upgrade adviser did warn me on my NIC that it would not work, no problem switched out the NIC for one that would. There however was no warning that my Microsoft Basic Optical mouse would have trouble. It shows in the device manager as being installed and working properly. The led is lit up on the mouse however it does not work. The mouse pointer stays at the middle of the screen and will not move. None of the mouse buttons or the wheel do anything. I tried to use a Logitech mouse, no go. I grabbed the Wacom tablet I seldom use and it also will not work. Every one of these devices when installed shows up in Device Manager as being installed properly and working. Any ideas??? |

I have not tried safe mode as yet and I had another NIC that would work so my
Vista machine is connected to the internet and has downloaded a couple updates even. I will try safe mode and see if that helps at all. Mouse problem
I had problems with both my USB mouse and USB keyboard when installing Vista
Enterprise. I searched around and found a PS2-plug mouse and a PS2-plug keyboard - both worked, and let me find and install drivers from the internet for the USB (optical/wireless) mouse & USB keyboard. Just FYI... "Jmilne" wrote: I just installed Vista business edition as an upgrade to Windows XP pro.
