Default Networking Problem - Please Help

I have my network completely setup between 2 pcs running vista and one
running mac osx, I can see all the files on my mac, thanks to posts on this
website but here in lies my problem: When I share files on my network, I
cannot see them, all I see is the shared music, documents, videos and so on,
when I click them, say for instance my shared music icon I can only see
"sample music" inside the folder despite the fact that I have a bunch of
music in my my music folder, and when I go there, right click, and check
shared, it says that it's shared but it does not show up. Now, if I drag and
drop the files onto my network, like take mp3s and put them in the shared
music folder, and copy them, not make them a shortcut, they show up and work
just fine. I cannot do this for all of them because I have my entire cd
collection on my computer and would take up way too much space. Maybe i'm
doing something wrong, hopefully you can show me how to get them to show up
without copying them.

Default Networking Problem - Please Help

i am having a similar problem. my new computer with vista does not seem to be
able to share files with my old computer running xp. they can both share
internet connection but not the files. when i am on my new computer, the old
computer does not show up on the network. when i am on my old computer, the
new computer does not show up on the network. yesterday when my new comp
arrived it was fine. all i had to do was make sure both comps had the same
workgroup and it was as simple as that. today, out of the blue it stuffed up.
PLEASE HELP! ARGHHH.
