I have an existing Win2K peer-to-peer network (under a workgroup, not a
domain) that has been running smoothly - with the DHCP managed by a Linksys wireless router. I just added two VISTA (home edition) PCs with wireless NIC to the system, the machines are uniquely named and the same workgroup name as the Win2K PCs. The usernames/PWs are set up appropriately on all the Win2K PCs - so the two Vistas should have permission to at least "see" their existence. The Vista PCs can see one another but not any of the Win2K PCs. The Win2K PCs can see all the Win2K PCs but not the Vista PCs. It should not be a DHCP issue since the Vista PCs can see each other as well as having internet access. What does it take to get them to see and talk to one another? My file server is in the Win2K group and the Vista PCs need to be able to access the files. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
