the error it gives is: "Windows cannot create a network map for the selected
type of network connection." i reformatted and reinstalled vista ultimate yesterday after a driver snafu. i did nothing different during the install, yet now, i cannot view the map. it was working perfectly before i reformatted, showing my gf's lappy and router. i have the protocals checked, protocal installed on lappy, private net, discovery on, the works. i still can't get it to work for some reason. |

OK, can you net view remote computer? To do that, use net view \\remotepcipaddress. post back with the system error.

my computer's IP addy is 192.168.0.2 behind a router. using \\192.168.0.2
