I am running IIS 7 for my HTTP server and at random times throughout the day
I get this error message: IIS Worker Process stopped working and was closed A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available. I click 'Close' (as this is the only option) and that's it. My web server doesn't seem to stop functioning. Everything seems to work normal however this is really annoying and I want to know what is going on and if I should worry? How do I stop this? |

I'm having this problem as well. IIS doesn't seem to be affected by this errors in any noticeable way though, so if I only could supress the error messages somehow I'd be happy with that. If it's to any help, this is what the event viewer recorded last time it happened: "Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549b5f8, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000af1c9, process id 0xc60, application start time 0x01c78f34755bf0f6." -- haavi |

you might want to try adding the inetpub folder as shared, and also giving IIS users full permissions. I am suffering from the same crashes you are, and the post right above me gave me an idea to try this. I have a compaq, and I am guessing you do also. We'll see what happens. No crash yet. *crosses fingers* -- Freeform ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Freeform's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=27006 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=686723 http://forums.techarena.in |

Is everyone on HP or compaq machines?
I'm getting exactly the same problem on vista business and iis7 and while it is not stopping IIS at all is really annoying. Especially as Windows passes control to the minimised dialogue box each time. If anyone has a solution then please make it available. Cheers |

Not to start any flame wars towards Microsoft, but there has been all sorts of crappy things they have done lately. Vista won't print to a pdf printer, and a new one had to be coded to work within a vista system (named Bullzip), and it's free, so that's sweet. They also created this new *.docx format that can't be read in previous versions of microsoft office (prior to the new 2007). Good marketing move, horrible move in general however. They also are trying to currently sue the pants off of a few open source companies. Do I smell evil? Now magically, there are server conflicts with apache, and php that aren't easy to fix. Proprietary based sabatoge? Possibly. -- Freeform ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Freeform's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=27006 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=686723 http://forums.techarena.in |

I'm having this issue too, and I'm using an self-built system, so I guess it has to do wih software, and I think I know something: IIS creates one "master thread" that listens for new connections on port 80, and when it receives a new connection, it creates a new thread(an "IIS worker process"), that handles that connection from then on(you can see this is iis manager(start - run - inetmgr - ok) - worker processes), but I guess the shutdown of those worker processes isn't going good, I'll try some things with configuration etc, and will tell you when I succeed ![]() -- Destro ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Destro's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=30764 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=686723 http://forums.techarena.in |
