Hi
For anyone that may be able to help me.. Just setup my first Vista Home Basic PC for somebody. Can connect to the PPTP VPN they use to get to their work network without a problem, but i cant send any data over that link. The VPN complains it has limited connectivity and the connection gets no default gateway assigned to it... I have tried playing with firewall settings and also adding static routes to get to the subnet but to no avail. Although I am assigned a correct IP for the connection, I cannot access anything down the tunnel and no traffic goes anywhere. In the VPN core you can see that I have authenticated no problem though... Not running any third party firewalls or anything like that. Any help would be much appreciated! r anybody interested read he
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929857 Nothing to do with gateway or routing but solved the problem, even though I had authenticated ok, go figure! The solution: 1.Click Start, and then type regedit in the Start Search box. 2.In the search results list, right-click regedit, click Run as Administrator, and then click Continue in the User Account Control dialog box. 3.Locate, and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\RasMan\Parameters 4.Create the following registry entry under the previous subkey. If this entry already exists, edit it so that it appears as follows: Name: AllowPPTPWeakCrypto Value type: DWORD Value data: 1 5.Exit Registry Editor. 6.Restart the computer. ![]() Ash "Ash Rile" wrote in message ...
