SoundMAX Try This
I recently updated my Gateway M320 laptop to Vista which installed an audio
driver that did not work (I had no sound). Gateway does not have an updated driver so I tried the one for XP (from 2004). On first run of the exe installation file, I received an error that the software will not run on this operating system (Vista). It then asks if I want to try again. I said yes and clicked "reinstall using recommended settings". The SoundMAX installation program then came up and installed the XP sound drivers. My M320 is working great with sound and all. To those having sound issues, you might want to try this. You should also be able to get other software that ran on XP to work with Vista. I had the same issue with Cyberlink Power 2 Go. Try clicking "reinstall using recommended settings" if the initial exe install fails. |
