Reading between the lines, it appears that the current Soundblaster cards,
Audigy, 2, 4, etc., will not be capabile of providing the same features
under Vista that they were able to do with Windows XP. Am I wrong? Does it
mean that we all will need to step up to the next generation sound card
also?

Hi Fred,

So far it seem that Creative is well on their way to supporting the Audigy 2
and 4 series in Vista. I am running Vista x64 and have successfully installed
the 64-bit drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS - I have setup 5.1 Surround, SPDIF Out,
and even have the ability to modify the environment effects and CMSS
settings.

Once I figured out the Audio Console and the Sound Configuration tools, I
was good to go.

I wouldn't be running out to buy an X-Fi just yet.

Cheers!

Sys Specs:
AMD x2 4800+ / 1Gig TwinX-4000PT / Asus A8V Deluxe
eVGA 7600GS AGP 256mb
Windows Vista x64 Ultimate
USB Keyboard (wireless) / USB Mouse (corded)
SB Audigy 2 ZS / Winfast Leadtek 2000XP Expert

Thanks...I'll try to duplicate what you were able to pull off.
