Default Email Downloading Super Slow from My Mail Server on Vista

Very Strange I attempted to check my email off of my domain network and even
messages 64 kb in size fail because of the huge download time. I tried it
from another machine and it works fine off of an xp machine. I installed a
virtual xp pc on the desktop i am having trouble with, and the email download
works fine. SO there is something in Vista causing this. What could it be? I
tweaked everything i could think of.

It could be that they forgot about networking in Vista and added it as a
last minute afterthought. There are an absurd amount of posts about the
crappy network performance in Vista in this forum and MANY others on the
web. The good news is, it isn't anything you are doing wrong, the bad news
is, it is something MS has done wrong. This is one of the major issues
with Vista that will prevent me from rolling it out to any clients. I
thought Windows 2000, Windows 95, and other MS OS's were far more finished
on their initial release than Vista is. I know most people would say, wait
for SP1 for any MS product before rolling it out but I'd say this is
definitely one of those items where I would agree. Oh and Exchange 2007 -
it is an even worse kludge job than Vista!
