Use the onboard sound that came with my motherboard but cant get the back
speakers to work with Vista.

Now maybe its REaltek problem with drivers still not up standard for Vista.

details are : Aduio driver version 6.0.1.6123
Aduio controller : nVidia ( 0059 )
Audio codec : ALC850

Any solutions or is it a case of sitting back and being patient

Does the website of the motherboard manufacturer have anything updated? You
might even try the Realtek website.

Asus is very very lacking in support for its older products ( and in my case
thats just a bit over 12 months ). Realtek appears to be doing a Nvidia (
sli for 7800's anyone ?? ) and concentrating on newer products.
