I am able to manually put Windows Vista to sleep by either the power button
on the Start menu or even by a voice recognition command, but my settings for sleep after so many minutes does not work. My screensaver comes on after 20 minutes and the system is to sleep after 40 minutes but doesn't. I have a Logitech wireless mouse, an Epson Perfection USB scanner and 2 HP USB printers attached. Any ideas for a fix? |

I have found the problem below. I have a dial-up DSL connection rather than
an Always On connection. If I disconnect then Windows Vista will enter the Sleep mode without any intervention. Would the same problem be evident with an Always On connection? Anyone know? There is a Windows Update (Optional) that addresses the problem - at least
for MS Wireless mouses. Can't remember the full name or number but has HID Filter in the name. The only mouses that cause this problem run on the 27mhz range. All others do not cause a problem with sleep\resume. "Lee" wrote in message ... "gergaloo" wrote in message ... I've got the same problem. Can someone please help? I found the reference, but my Windows Update doesn't show it., maybe because I've disconnected the mouse from USB to resolve the issue, which is better for me anyway. "Lee" wrote in message ...
