I recently installed Vista Home Premium on a new hard drive set up as a dual
boot with XP. My adsl connection is with an ethernet link to a Netgear modem/router. Works fine with XP but I cannot get Vista to connect. I can't even access the router. I have tried all possible combinations of Vista settings but all to no avail! Anyone got an "idiots" guide to setting up a connection with Vista? XP set up was a 2 minute job so I'm really cheesed off that Vista is not so intuitive. |

Does the Vista receive 169.254.x.x IP? or post back with the result of ipconfig /all.
