Default Downloaded files are nowhere

When I download files, I download them to a folder. But when I look in that
folder, it's empty. I'm sure I did it right. What can I do?

Go to download a new file, and make sure you find the directory it's
going into (usually, c:\Users\You\Downloads. Some third party download
programs put them into c:\Users\You\Documents\Downloads.
