Default Windows Vista Radeon 9250 or Geforce 6200

Hi There

I dont know if this is the proper place to ask this but I recently
installed Windows Vista, I have a Pentium 4 2.8GB 1GB RAM and a Sapphire
Radeon 9250 graphics card. My Windows Expirience Index is 1.0 because of the
Card. I want to purchase a Geforce 6200 256MB card, will that help Windows
Vista to be faster, is the Geforce 6200 a good card for this. I know that
there are many other cards out there but I cant afford to spend 120 or more
right know.

Thanks

Michel

Michel,

If you can afford close to $120, then go a litle extra and buy a Geforce
7600GT for $130.00. You can find them around this price range on
http://www.pricewatch.com.

There is no comparison between the Geforce 7600Gt and the 6200 series. In
3DMark06, the 7600GT will give you around 1500 3dmarks. The 6200 won't even
break 50 3dmarks.

The Geforce 6200 & the Radeon 9200 series are both hopelessly outdated.

Here's a benchmark comparison that shows the 7600GT & 6200 scores:

that benchmark is wrong because it tests a Geforce 6200 TurboCache (TC) PCI-E
A Geforce 6200 AGP is not turbocache and it's much faster than a TurboCache
