Default laptop

I bought a linskys 300n notebook card my laptop has a wireless thing built in now I cant get the n card to work right every thing goes to the old one If I diable the old one it wont let the wireless run. vista doesnt allow me to put the curcer over the monitor to see the speed all it has is bars. Should I just delete my network and start over Im confused I hope I havent made you. Dennis
