Default Windows & Terminal Services

I am runnung windows 2000 server and logging in with remote desktop thru
terminal sevices. Which version of windows Vista I need to be issued a
permenant Client Access License.

My IT Manager says that there is not a version of Vista that has a permenate
CAL. He says that you will have to buy a license. He recommends installing
Win2000 on the laptop that I am about to buy.

I, however, believe(hope) that either Professional or Ultimate will provide
the permenant CAL. I do not want a seven year old OS on my new laptop.

Would someone please give some clarity to this issue.

I installed Ultimate in the end and it did issue a permant CAL....works for me.
