I upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XP Pro SP2 this past weekend. I've found
that the speed in which an application runs varies much more now than it did in XP. For example, Virtual PC 2007 has become unberable to use now, because I generally have to wait 5-10 minutes just to open a folder. If I want to do anything on the network, it times out. As for games, it's the same deal for the most part. The only one contrary to this is a game called Space Cowboy Online. However instead of running slow, it renders black models. Other applications such as the Orb Networks media server works just fine when dealing with PCs. However, it suddenly will not work when streaming to phones as it times out. Even when dealing with PCs, it is much slower than before. Note: All of the above listed programs are Vista-compatible. System Description: 2.8 GHz Sempron 2 GB DDR RAM ATI Radeon 9800 Graphics card Creative Audigy SE Sound card Note: All hardware above also has vista-compatible drivers. |
