windows vista is being a pain.
is there any reason why the blue screen of death keeps popping up? i know some programs do not work on here. like the old version of aol instant messenger, but that was my problem before. so i just downloaded the updated version and everything went fine. until now. exactly what programs don't work on here? and i've noticed when i do the trend micro antivirus scan, the blue screen comes up again. help? |

Does the blue screen show anything like an error code, file name etc?
Have you submitted the problem to Microsoft? (Problems and solutions in the Control Panel). -- Paul Smith, Yeovil, UK. What is the error message on the blue screen? i know some programs do not work on here. like the old version of aol instant messenger, but that was my problem before. so i just downloaded the updated version and everything went fine. until now. exactly what programs don't work on here? and i've noticed when i do the trend micro antivirus scan, the blue screen comes up again. Is it a Vista compatible version of Trend? Did the error appear the first time you used it after installing it or did it work for awhile then start to give this error. If the former then uninstall Trend and ask their tech support for help or use one of the other AV programs such as Avast or AVG, both of which offer free Vista compatible versions. If the latter, then did you try a system restore to when things worked? Next time I suggest you give the message thread a descriptive title like BSOD using Trend Micro AV, rather than a generic Help. Many folks skip right over those types of posts. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |
