DVD R/RW drive no longer reading discs after Vista upgrade
I just completed a Dell Express Vista Upgrade from Win XP SP2 Media Center
Edition to Windows Vista Home Premium. Since doing so, my DVD R/RW drive will not read any discs I put in it. The drive will spin like crazy, and the light will come on, but it will not read either CDs or DVDs. When I try to browse the contents of the disc in "Computer", I'm prompted to insert a disc, and the drive ejects. The only thing I noticed was that the Roxio drivers were not being loaded at startup. I uninstalled my Roxio software, but the problem didn't go away. This is my current configuration: Windows Vista Home Premium Dell XPS 210, 300GB HDD, 2GB RAM, 1GB Video RAM, standard DVD R/RW drive. Please let me know if you require any further information. |

DVD R/RW drive no longer reading discs after Vista upgrade
I have the exact same problem. I am going to try and switch to another user profile, maybe that will help. -- Han Solo |
