Default Disappointed with Vista on Dell Computer

Have you installed a 3rd party firewall or antivirus software and if so did
you turn off the Vista firewall? Have you checked your internet speed (I
use this: http://www.myspeed.com/pe/index.html)? What background processes
are running? Just a few things to look at. Also, if you just got your PC,
you should call Dell tech support and see what they have to say.

I just ordered a new Dell XPS 410 with Vista Home Premium already
installed. The person at Dell who helped me with each "part" of the
computer said that Vista would work well with the basic choices- Intel Core
2 Duo Processor E6300, 1 GB SDRAM, 320GB hard drive. Received the computer
in a few days-set it up, turned it on and then my enthusiasm ended. I
clicked on the internet, clicked again and again and finally a new window
appeared. When going from one page to another on the internet I have to
wait (I know it's not minutes) but it's a lot longer than I waited with my
"old" computer that had XP with less RAM and a smaller hard drive. I'm not
sure if my home network (router with the PC and laptop) is slowing down
Vista but it didn't seem to slow down my old computer. I keep looking at
my tower with Windows XP and thinking about setting it back up but I now
owe money on this new disappointment. Anyone thinking of changing, think
twice.
