Blue Screen Error
Hi
I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows Vista Basic on it. All seemed fine (although quite slow) untill I tried to install the driver for my broadband modem (which has been fine on every other machine / op system). I get a blue fuzzy screen and then the machine reboots itself, its driving me nuts and I cannot get onto the internet using my ISP on that machine - Whats the fix please? Ive already contacted my ISP and asked the Question: Do they have a driver thats VISTA compatible... and Im waiting for an answer from them but meanwhile Microsoft, didnt you think to test this stuff (like what installs / drivers work with your existing Op systems and make sure that the new one supports them all )??? and wheres the service pack? Cmon.... Thanks... |

Cmon.... Thanks... It is the hardware mftr.'s responsibility to write drivers for their hardware that work with particular operating systems, not Microsoft's. To reply to you in kind - didn't you think to check first to see if your existing peripherals and other hardware would work with the new operating system you were thinking of buying? Call your ISP back and insist on an answer or a replacement broadband modem that will work with Vista if this modem was supplied by your ISP.
