When I select a newsgroup Windows Mail will automatically also select the
first post in the group. Is it possible to turn this annoying feature off? The problem is that because a post is selected in the group Windows Mail will show it in the preview pane and if there is a large file attached to the post it will begin downloading the post and the file. Outlook Express did not select any posts when I selected a newsgroup. I like that better. Is it possible to make Windows Mail not select any post by itself? tia -- Finn Tolderlund |

Unfortunately not. They decided this was a desirable feature.
You can disable the Preview pane to prevent from having to download the message and put a button for it on the toolbar. steve "Finn Tolderlund" wrote in message ... You might also consider changing your synchronization setting to "Headers
Only" to prevent this unwanted activity. BillP "Steve Cochran" wrote in message ... Unfortunately not. They decided this was a desirable feature.
