Default Punk Buster Problem!

I bought Battlefield 2142 when i had windows xp and it worked perfectly. once
i upgraded to Vista Battlefield is having problems with the PunkBuster
software which protects the game from hackers. Now i cant play the game
online at all because i will keep on getting kicked out of the server, and
the only explaination they give is a window with PunkBuster on it. If someone
could please explain how to get rid of this it would be very helpful.

PS. i tried to reinstall PunkBuster twice, im not sure i did correctly
however it still doesn't work

When you go to run BF2142, you'll want to click the icon and choose Run as
Admin. You could also go to www.evenbalance.com and download the PBupdater,
which lets you udpate all your games that use PB, before you play. But run
as administrator is the common fix

I've tried that, and it doesn't work. I've also turned off user account
control, and then tried running as an admin again, and that also has not
worked. all I have left to try is the pb updater, any other suggestions
of things i could do?
