Hi I am new to Vista program and I have Windows email now. I have a
nycap.rr.com address and I have no problem sending and receiving emails from home, but when I am at work on wireless DSL it will not let me send emails out. But I can receive emails while I am at work on the DSL. could someone please tell me what to do. I am not very computer oriented so full detail is a must for me...Thanks in advance...Paul |

I am having no problems receiving emails but cannot send them. I can use my
IP email with no problem and am configured to send them and for a copy to go to my sent box, in Windows mail but they go to the outbox and just sit. If I open the outbox and highlight the email and click send/receive they just disappear. Help. "Paul Hladik" wrote: Hi I am new to Vista program and I have Windows email now. The reason you can't send from work is that you have to be connected via
your ISP to send via your ISP. Its possible that if you go to Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and check the box at the bottom to say it requires authorization and then see if that works. If not, then contact your ISP or check their website and see if there is a way to send through their system when you are connected to another. Most ISPs block that to prevent spam. steve "Paul Hladik" Paul wrote in message ... Hi I am new to Vista program and I have Windows email now. The basic rule for sending is that you must use the outgoing mail server
belonging to the provider who is giving you Internet connectivity at that moment. So, at work you must use whatever SMTP server your work location uses. If you are authorized to use your employer's SMTP server, you can add an additional email account which is identical to your existing nycap.rr.com account except for the name of the outgoing mail server. Then use that new account when sending from work. There is another workaround which is available if your ISP allows an alternate SMTP port (other than '25').
