Default HELP!!! Why does my computer keep locking....

Why does my computer keep locking up? I have to turn it off, then restart in
"last known good configuration".

This happens every so often, but this morning I lost a boatload of work I
had input into a spread sheet.

HELP ME PLEASE! What can I do to stop this?

Having no idea what you are curently using hardware or software wise and
since the local mind reader is out of town we are unable to answer your
question.

What hardware do you have, what processes are running. What anti
virus/firewall do you have on your system.
What (if any) error messages do you have in the event viewer.
