Would it be so hard to include the links for the Terminal Services Client
v6.0 and Link Layer Topology for XP in a 'sticky' as the first entry in this newsgroup? Seems it would save an awful lot of hassle for people trying to read thru all these pages. For Remote Desktop to work from a 'client' XP machine to a 'host' Vista machine, the XP users need to download and install Terminal Services Client v6.0: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925876. For your XP Computers to show up in the Vista Network Map, you will need the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder to be installed on the XP Machine: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en Or better yet, why not make these part of Windows Update for XP Machines? |

Seems it would save an awful lot of hassle for people trying to read thru all these pages. Actually, since this is a newsgroup rather than a web forum or similar, it isn't even possible to make a "sticky" post as far as I know. The new RDP / Terminal Service Client is available through Windows Update, but I've no idea why the new LLTD Responder isn't. Regards, Dave |
