I have a strict system backup procedure in place where I backup to a USB
hard drive every week night using Acronis TrueImage 10...I keep 10 or more backup images on that external drive to ensure I can restore my system to a recent point... With VSS and restore points, the backups get larger and larger each night... Do I need to use vssadmin and set the shadowstorage to zero for each drive to get rid of the extra space used? Greenwing |

Turn System Restore off completely. This stops the service from loading.
Even with System Restore off you will still have "system volume information" on each drive. But after a reboot, if you look inside this file you will see next to nothing there. Accept the fact that you can not eliminate this file from each drive. -- Regards, Richard Urban MVP Microsoft Windows Shell/User "GreenWing" wrote in message ...
