I am having trouble browsing a network share using UNC path in Vista
Business. I am trying to connect Visual SourceSafe 2005 to the VSS database in a remote server. However, I cannot browse to this share from my machine. If I use the IP address I can open and browse, but if I use the name it does not work. For instance, if I do \\192.168.x.x, then it opens up fine. However, If I do \\serverName, I get "A device attached to the system is not functioning." I can ping the server by name, I can do both forward and reverse nslookup. The name resolves fine, just that I cannot do \\serverName. Any help? |
