Default Random disconnects while browsing

I am on a clean Vista install. Finally worked out all my network issues using
Network Magic. Using IE7, I can browse any site for about 20 minutes then get
a hourglass or waiting. I can be browsing threads in this site and then all
of a sudden a complete slowdown to the point where the connection times out.
Usually I wait a minute or so and then everything works fine.

I have very little running on the machine. I have turned of sidebar. I
looked at task manager for anything obvious hogging the network or system but
nothing really looks obvious.

I downloaded Firefox and thought it went away but got hit with it again.

Any suggestion, ideas on what to try next?
