$WINDOWS.~Q - What is this folder for?
A new folder, $WINDOWS.~Q, was created after I had my computer upgraded from
Windows XP to Vista Ultimate. Do I need to keep this folder, or Can I delete this folder? Thanks to all advance. Young |

$WINDOWS.~Q - What is this folder for?
If you absolutely know you will no longer need any of the files from your
in-place upgrade (files saved from the old system such as: My Documents, My Music, etc. that the upgrade moved into here because it could not figure out where to put them) then you can delete these two directories: $WINDOWS.~Q $INPLACE.~TR Or use Windows Cleanup: You can use the Disk Cleanup tool to permanently delete the folders, click to select Files discarded by Windows Upgrade in the Files to delete list.
