Default Windows Explorer resources question

Is there a place where I can manually submit a possible bug or issue with
windows explorer? (windowsvista 64bit ultimate edition)

details:

I just noticed that my windows explorer is using 50% of my CPU (love the
dashboard widgets!). What seems odd to me, is that if I drag the window size
smaller, the CPU load goes down accordingly. Full screen = 50% CPU load.
1/4 screen = 00% (which is where my system idles) Browsing files has little
or no impact, its the size of the window that is affecting the CPU load. I
have not yet noticed any other programs doing this. IE7 and other programs
seem fine

My experience index is 5.2
Processor: Intel 2.67 Quadcore extreme
2046 MB ram
dual nvidia 8800gtx video cards

Thanks for your input!

The nvidia drivers still aren't close to perfect and I would bet that is
your issue since when you change the area Aero renders, your cpu usage
drops.

Yep, this sounds like a video driver issue.

Default Windows Explorer resources question

Steve & Steven,

Thanks for your quick responses!
I have some new information on this.
I have learned that something in the left hand pane labled "Folders" is
affecting the CPU load. I wish I could attach a screenshot. LOL I'll try to
describe it as acurately as I can

I start windows explorer using the windows key + E.
This gives me an explorer view with a narrow left side and a wider right side.
Orignally, I posted that the size of the window correlated to the CPU load.
This is false. It actually jumps to 50% CPU load as soon as I reveal the
bottom part of the "folder" pane. (left hand side narrow column). I have two
mapped network drives & two saved website links . Under that is "network,
control panel, & Recycle bin"

If my explorer window is positioned so that I can only see down to the
mapped drives, everything is ok, But when I reveal the first saved website
link (the CPU jumps to 50%).

I hope that is clear
You are right about the nvidia drivers, but I suspect this might be
something else.

Thanks again!

I have isolated the issue to whenever windowsvista ultimate explorer is
showing my saved websites in the left column, it makes my CPU load jump. With
just two links showing, my CPU jumps from 00% to 50%. After deleting the
links, the CPU load drops to 00% again.

I hope someone who works on vista will check into this. I can provide
screenshots, and detailed system info upon request.

Thanks!
