HI, I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I've attached my Network Storage
Device(buffallo link station) to my wireless router. But i am unable to discover/detect the device, where as i could do the same with my other laptop which is XP Professional. At last i connected by giving \\192.168.1.5 with credentials, but unable to see the protected folders. I am unable to connect to protected shared folders. And all these are a click-away in Windows XP professional. Can any one help me solving this problem. |

Thanks Douglas. I will try this method today. But i resolved this problem by
modifying the registry setting. Here it is. By default Windows Vista works with NTLMv2 Authentication and my buffalo technology link station(NAS) work with NTLM. so i have to change the authentication level to make it compatible. So changed the following registry entry. "LmCompatibilityLevel" to 00000002 at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Lsa] - KiranKumar Chilappagari "Douglas" wrote: try this On windows Xp: 1.First click on the nortan Icon. 2.Than click on Nortan Internet Security. 3.Than click open on settings. 4.Under web browsing click Personal Firewall. 5.Click configure. 6.Than click programe control. 7.Scroll down until you see two of the same called Operating system. 8.
