Default Can I have two workgroup profiles and change without restarting??!

Here's the problem. I run Vista Ultimate on my laptop. Now, the fact that
it's a laptop means that I use it in different locations - 1. my home 2.
school. My home has one workgroup and my school has another. I need to access
my home workgroup more often so I have it set for that. But I want to be able
to see the computers at my school as well without the hassle of the control
panel and then restarting and all that kinda stuff. Is there a way to make,
like, workgroup "profiles" and switch between them quickly and easily? thanks

This program lets you store multiple network configurations and switch
between them easily:

Mobile Net Switch
http://www.mobilenetswitch.com

I haven't tried it, but according to the web page, it runs on Vista.

However, you don't need to change the workgroup name, even when
connecting to different networks.

To access another computer, regardless of what workgroup either
computer is in, click the Start button and type the other computer's
name in the Start Search box in this format:

\\computer

Actually, I had figured out that I just needed to set the school's network as
a private network and it worked. Thanks for the link, i'll see how it works

Yes -- Vista doesn't show you only computers in your own Workgroup.
However, by keeping the same workgroup name from home, that does mean XP
machines at school won't see *you*. That may or may not be what you intend.
