Alan here ...thank you it worked for me too. Still getting these error
messages though in both boxes...cant seem to work out why! "Dave" wrote: This worked for me, too. It looks like this is a known problem for MANY months prior to release, and I found nothing in the microsoft kb about it. "Pamelajn" wrote: Try using shortcut keys I found that by keying "ALT' then "E" then "Y" it would delete each message one by one. I MAY BE WAY OFF BASE HERE... PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME I think what's happening is that the database is getting it's messages confused. When you first started having the problem did you notice that it looked as if the computer was actually deleting the messages, but they still appeared in the deleted items folder? According to the database, the deleted items folder is empty. What we're having a problem is with clearing out the messages names from the folder. I believe that is why we're getting the 'unknown error' message. The computer doesn't see that WE can still see the message headers in the folder. Try what I've suggested. Since I did the shortcut keys, I've not had anymore problems with doing a MASS delete of my deleted items folder. Everything works as it should now. Let me know if this works for you. Take care, Pamela "bluedog765" wrote: Can someone help with this problem? I am unable to delete a message from my inbox! Thanks in advance |

Hello! I want to thank you, Frank, a million times over! I did exactly as
you said and my Inbox email that shut down my Windows Mail and my Outbox email that would not delete is all taken care of. ![]() I followed your specific instructions as follows: There are two copies of WindowsMail.MSMessageStore, One in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Microsoft\Windows Mail and one in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Backup\New If you delete both of these the database will be rebuilt. However, while no messages should be lost, some may be downloaded again and you may lose some record of which have been read. I recommend that you only do this when they are causing you trouble, like when they are in the Outbox. Otherwise I now just mark them as read and ignore them. Once again, a million "thank you's to you!" Sincerely Elusive "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM" wrote: "Barbarahb" wrote in message ... I am having problems with the same message but it concerns and email in my outbox and it won't let any other emails that I have created after this "problem email" go out. What do I do? I tried your method but it doesn't do anything. Thanks in advance. Try repairing the database with WMUtil from www.oehelp.com That probably won't work, but it's worth a try because it's easy and the program is free. If you're a glutton for punishment you can try the method below, but Gary's suggestion is a lot easier. Have you tried marking it 'read' and then deleting it?
If the undeletable email is in a folder other than the outbox, just ignore it. The cure for that is worse than the disease. Gary VanderMolen "TAFFY PAYNE" bill wrote in message ...
