Has MS ever said what the highest that these scores can be? Are we using a
1-10 scale for instance?

On a scale of 1 to 5.0, it scores about a 4.3...

(yeah yeah, nobody likes a smartass)

Maybe we need to start a thread for people to post their scores and
equipment like above. Might be of some help to people building new computers
that will run Vista as to how particular subsystems perform (in the world
according to Vista anyway).

If you click on "What do these numbers mean" you will see that "The base
scores currently range from 1 to 5.9."

It's a P4 3.4, right? That's a good score for it, being a single core and
all. I have a P4 3.4 and get a 4.2. Your other scores are pretty high,
actual some are really high! That's really good, and you wouldn't notice
much of a score increase by overclocking, I went from a 4.2 to a SUPRISE 4.2
after overclocking from 3.0 to 3.4. A dual core would be a better upgrade
(Core2Duo or Athlon 64 X2).

At the moment it goes go 5.9. However as faster hardware is released so the
number will increase.

Actually, despite my previous smartass response, the Processor score
isn't all that great.

I'm scoring a 4.8 on my 2GB Athlon 64 X2, I'd have expected the latest
and greatest Intel chip would at least match my two+ year old CPU.

That being said, the score isn't really useful for much, what is more
important is how your system performs for your needs.
