Default Internet Connetion Troubleshooting

I recentley updated my PC to VISTA HOME PREMIUM and had no problems with my
network until now. The network settings all indicate that there is a
connection to both local and internet networks. However all aplications on my
VISTA PC are unable to succesfully connect to the internet. My other PC (XP)
is wirelessly connected to the same routers and has no promblems with
internet connection. My VISTA PC is only able to connect to the local
network. What could be the problem with the connection? And what steps can I
take to solve it.

Please help and thank you,

PROBLEM FIXED:

It turned out that an incompatible anti-virus software was the cause of the
interference. The anti-virus interfered with the firewall and blocked
internet connection. Uninstalling the incompatible software solved the
problem.

thanks 'all.
