Default Help!! Vista won't boot ans no recovery option

This is my second time experienceing this.

First with a beta and now with Vista Business. The system will not boot as
it feezes at the bootsceen. Even in Safe mode it does not get past the boot.
When I try the sugestion of putting my install disc in and rebooting to it.
I do not get a the startup option. It tells me that windows is in "setup" as
if I have just loaded and upgrade and begins to load Windows and of course
falling at the boot.

I do not get the install screen to have the option of a repair. Has anyone
had this problem or ,better yet, found a solution. It would be nice to have
the option not to wipe the disc to rienstall. This is crazy. Even if I
wanted to install over my current windows I can't. The DVD will not givve me
a setup option. If I did not have an XP disc, I could not even get in.

Any answers would be appreciated.

Default Help!! Vista won't boot ans no recovery option

Hi,

So have you installed Vista? If so have you managed to get into Vista
at all? If so then when you get to the part that says "Your computer
didn't shut down properly etc etc" and it asks you to boot in safe
mode/normal etc some times if your lucky the "restore your system to
the last best known config" will appear. Try that and see what happens

I had exactly the same problem. Mine was working fine until i installed
stupid Bitdefender antivirus thing then my computer came to a stand
still. It became unstable and when i rebooted it, it wouldn't work any
more (would boot up Vista) i was doing this for about 2 hours and i
found that when i left the computer off for about 30mins then it all
booted ok.

I found that my computer HDD was VERY hot and i think it came down to
that. One thing i did straight away when it was all working was
Defraged it.

I hope that's some help lol
