This previously posted in MS Access, but informed that this probably is a
Vista problem. Trying this area, as one of the problems is Networking error. Cannot see where else to go! On my pc and laptop I have MS Access 2.0, 97, 2000 and 2003, because I never know which version my customers might be using. They all work well together up to now but when I switched my p.c. from Windows 2000 Pro to a new p.c. with Vista Home Premium, I now have 2 recurring nightmare problems. 1 - Under Vista, Access keeps stopping without apparent reason. It says it will find a solution but always reports back that it can't find one. Among other times, I noticed this happening when copying a form design using Save As. The same database will still work OK on the laptop under 2000 Pro. Other times it happens as soon as I tried to create a vb procedure for an Event. 2 - Where my pc and laptop were networked [both using 2000 Pro] I now can't do so, and database objects opened on the pc get error messages "Can not access the data - Network connection may be lost", and they are virtually useless because of this. Will someone with more hair than me PLEASE provide solutions to these ? Many thanks in advance Dave B. |
