I have a 64-bit Ultimate machine connected to a 32-bit Home Premium machine.
I can see the 32-bit machine but not access it. Have shared the "E" drive on the 32-bit system, where I keep all my storage. All users full access. User name on 64-bit and 32-bit system is the same. File sharing is enabled on both systems. -- Best regards, Nikolaj Johansen Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit -- Windows Vista Home Premium -- XBOX 360 |

Are they both in the same workgroup? (makes it easier)
is the network set to Private on both? are you using a firewall that blocks access? Yes, they are both in the same Workgroup.
Yes, Windows Firewall is enabled on both systems. Norten Internet Security 2007 is running on the system I am trying to access. But I believe that both these should allow me through, or? Are the networks set to Private? They need to be. You didn't answer
that question. Also, NIS 2007 needs to be explicitly told to allow file and print sharing. On Thu, 29 Mar 2007 10:00:02 -0700, Nikolaj wrote: Yes, they are both in the same Workgroup. Yes, both are set to private.
I will try to look at the NIS settings. BTW is there a way to control the other system permanently, if I don't have a monitor installed on it? "Barb Bowman" wrote: Are the networks set to Private?
