Default Access to my Router

Because it's not the router's fault, that's why. He already said it works with Firefox.

Nevertheless, that was a very appropriate suggestion.
There is likely to be much better knowledge and understanding of this issue
there than here. Similarly it might have been more effective to post about
this in the Vista Networking NG.

The only other guess/suggestion that I would have that hasn't been made yet
is to make sure that you are not requesting any proxy checking (especially
on the LAN dialog), since it could confuse the router if it didn't know what
to do with it and then cause *some* delay in IE. However, I have no idea
why it would take as long as is being stated.

The best thing to do would be to take a trace of the two cases and compare
them for differences. E.g. do a packet capture using netcap or Ethereal.
Then refine your symptom description with that information.

How about asking a support person from the company that made your router?

I have installed Vista Premium and need to access my router to change some settings. Default router IP 192.168.x.x I open the
browser to the address. It takes in upwards of 2 minutes to get the login screen. WHY! I open access with firefox on the same
machine in less then a second. Thanks
