Hi,
My goal is to set up a VPN tunnel from our main office to our branch office. To accomplish this, I need a handshake between Vista VPN Server (main office) and D-Link 804 router (branch office). For this, I believe the VPN Server must support a protocol called IKE. Does Vista VPN Server support this protocol? Thank you in advance for your help. Pete |

Hi Pete,
You can use an L2TP/IPSec tunnel between the two sites. IPSec uses IKE for the setup of Secure Associations. THis is supported. However, to use this, you would need Windows Server on both sides. For setup of a tunnel between a Windows server and a router you might have to use IPSec tunnel mode which also uses IKE for the setup of Secure Associations. thanks Aanand You must be refering IPSec tunnel mode between two sites. THis is supported. It is independent of VPNYou dont need VPN for that. "Peter" wrote in message oups.com... Hi, My goal is to set up a VPN tunnel from our main office to our branch office.
