"augustus_meyer" wrote in message ... My ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 grabs 256NB of system memory. Any ideas how to limit/disable this feature ? You should update the amount of RAM on your system to at least 2Gb, that way the 256Mb devoted to your graphics won't matter that much. |

How to limit/disable Hypermemory ?
My ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 grabs 256NB of system memory. Any ideas how
to limit/disable this feature ? Where exactly do you read this info? It may well be, that your card would merely use /up to/ 256 MB while it actually uses 0 MB of the systems RAM. How many monitors are connec- ted and what resolution are they set to? Regards, Kai-Uwe |

How to limit/disable Hypermemory ?
Anzeige-Erweiterte Einstellungen.
Display - Extended Settings. However, it is not absolutely clear, whether these are ACTUAL characteristics or MAXIMUM. At least, it says, that Available memory: 319 MB, dedicated video memory: 64MB, shared: 255MB Monitor: 1280x800, 32bit colors. That does not count up to 319 MB, of course, but who knows whta Vista does with the memory to store skins, backgrounds, icons etc. ? Monitor: 12 "Kai-Uwe v. d. No setting for this. Some ATI driver tweak, I guess.
Any idea, why Vista wants 128MB at least for Aero ? Much more than only to store 1280x800x32bit of a screen image. For this, 4MB would suffice. "JimR" wrote: "augustus_meyer" wrote in message ...
