Default Limited Connectivity/Unknown Network after Suspend Mode

I have a problem with my internet connection, any help will be appreciated.

After putting the computer into suspend mode, with the 'off' button on the
Start Menu, upon switching the computer back on I find that the connection is
either:

1.Limited or No Connectivity

or

2.Connected to an unknown network

In either case, I cannot browse the internet or use Windows Live Messenger,
I don't know what to do!

Thanks for reading,

George.

(I can resume a connection by Restarting the computer and I am using an LAN
Ethernet connection)

right click on the network icon and select "diagnose and repair" and see
what that does for you.
