Eric,
So you want the files on the desktop to be available offline but not sync. Is that correct? I'm curious- why do you need such a functionality? Also please, let me know the name of the GP that you're setting to achieve this and check to see if Vista supports this or needs a different one. Thanks "Eric BOUXIROT" wrote in message ... hi, i have a domain controller with 4 PCs (4 under XP and 1 under Vista) i want the desktop to not sync the offline files and laptop do this sync.. the Vista PC is a desktop PC. all Other PCs (Laptop and Desktop) use XP. the pb is, Vista always want to sync (small icon in corner of all icon on desktop and some other files) By GPO i have configured the domain to setup Offline files for laptop, and to not sync offline files for desktop. all work good with XP PCs. but Vista seem to ignore this GPO. can you help me ? thank a lot |

hi,
no i want vista don't have offline files AND not sync. (Vista PC is always on the network, then it is not necessary to have Offline files) i set the GPOs like this : (set to disable) (sorry if sentence is not exactly the same as on English Windows, mine is French.. )- Authorize or prohibit the use of the functionality of files off line - Synchronize all the files except connection before finishing the session (this two GPO is under Computer/Admin templates/Network/offline files) thank a lot Shubhankar Sanyal [MSFT] a formulé ce mercredi : Eric, So you want the files on the desktop to be available offline but not sync. H Eric,
I believe the policy is supposed to work even on Vista. Was your Vista desktop restarted since the policy was set?
