Assuming the remote computer is 192.1681.2, you need to do that: net use \\192.168.1.2.

I'm having EXACTLY the same problem. New wireless Vista laptop, can't see
shared folders & printers on an XP desktop. Network Discovery is on, set to
Private Network. Workgroup name is the same on both computers. No
passowords set on shared folders. I ran the net use command from both
computers, the result was 'the command completed successfully'. I can
access the internet from the laptop, but it can't see the XP or any of the
folders. The desktop can see the Vista laptop, but can't see the
properties.

I followed this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922120 and there is a
d/l for WinXP to install an 'LLTD' component - do I need to do this on the
XP?

Thanks,
Mark

The LLTD component allows Vista to more easily "see" XP machines and place
them on the network map.

Nice tool for XP and Vista..but its only a display tool... it does not
resolve any access or networking sharing issues.
