Can now see vista comp on my network via my xp machine but needs password
I have been fighting the network problems with this new vista machine and my
xp network. I can now acess my xp machines via the vista machine but when I try to acess the vista machine I am asked for a user name and password. What user name what password Please help

To get the same effect, use a blank password on the Vista computer. Be sure

Passwords make networking work better in XP, Vista, and other operating systems. Yes, the OP could use blank passwords but it wouldn't be my first choice. Have you been able to resolve this issue? I have exactly the same problem,
only I can go a bit further. My XP machines can access files on the Vista machine but Vista wants a password to access XP. My Vista machine also does not find shared printers on the XP machines. I seem to have the same problem on XP Home and Professional, but for the sake
of simplicity, lets stick with the XP Professional machines and Vista. Running simple file sharing, at least I believe so. Password protected file sharing is disabled. Administrator account has network access.
