I have an external HD (Ximeta) which is connected like a PC in the Network on
the Router (RJ45). This is very useful for backups etc. Windows sees this Disk as any other external HD and i can move files without any problems. In the past I made backups with Sync Toy from all Network PC's to the HD. It worked perfectly. Now under Visa I would like to use the Sync Center. But the program does not find (or looks for) the Network HD for setting up a partnership. Can anybody help me? Joel |

What you asked is how to get Sync Center to sync with your NAS -- for that,
you navigate to the NAS, right click it, and choose "Always Available Offline." Sync Center will now have an entry for that device and will sync files with it, so you can access them via the UNC even if you're not on your home network. However, what you can't do in Vista is have a local location auto-synced to that device. As a backup solution, I would suggest creating a share on that device and directing Windows Backup to perform a File Backup to it. CompletePC backups must be to local storage (or, if you must go over the network, via iSCSI, since that looks like a local disk). "Joel" wrote in message ...
