My system: Vista Ultimate, Intel Core 2 Duo T7600, 2GB memory, NVIDIA
GeForce Go 7950 GTX

I have managed to create a spurious wireless network - one that doesn't
work! I have looked everywhere I can think of to find a way to remove/delete
this network but to no avail.

As would be imagined, I don't know very much about networking, though I have
managed to set up another wireless network that does the job - just can't
see how to remove the unwanted one.

Only had hands on Vista for about 4 hours so far, so there is hope yet

Apologies all - I had missed the obvious. I was looking for option buttons
not this new toolbar style option strip.

Have you configured your computer to use the right wireless network?
Open the Network and Sharing Center, and click "Manage wireless
networks". If the network you want isn't there, click "Add", and
follow the prompts.

If that doesn't help, please reply to this message in the news group
(not by E-mail) with more information to help other people understand
the problem.

Where exactly do you see the spurious wireless network? What do you
click to get there? What is the window title? What else do you see
there?

Thanks anyway Steve. You must have been composing this as I sent my own
reply saying I had solved the problem. I don't know why I missed the
obvious, but there it was staring me in the face. I wouldn't care, but after
right clicking on it, searching everything else that seemed associated with
networking and not finding what I wanted - I must try to get used to the
fact that Vista seems to have altered/done away with many of the context
menus.

To answer your questions: I saw the network in Start-Connect to dialog
which is titled 'Connect to a network', and was listed alongside the LAN
network and the Wireless Network (both of which are working).
