As we all now know Vista forces NTLMv2 authentication which means you cannot access some NAS deviced unless you change the authentication level. For those that have a Buffalo TeraStation Pro you can download firmware that gives you root access to your TeraStation via telnet. You can download this from: http://tinyurl.com/2mccr9 Once you have this you can download Samba 3 with or without AD Support from: 'Buffalo Extras' (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/itimpi/buffalo.htm) There are also instructions on the above website. Once installed you can use SWAT via http://terastation address:901 to turn on NTLMv2 Authentication I also found that upgrading from Samba2 to 3 gave me roughly a 40% performance boost ![]() Just thought I'd share what I've found out ![]() -- DC187 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DC187's Profile: http://www.vista64.net/forums/member.php?userid=1511 View this thread: http://www.vista64.net/forums/showthread.php?t=55956 |
